Anxiety Therapy

Anxiety is an emotion that serves us - it protects us from danger, and it means we care. However, anxiety is also a very powerful emotion and can take control of your mind and body, leaving you feeling helpless, exhausted, and/or unable to make a decision.

Many people learn to mask their invisible disabilities, and anxiety often goes undiagnosed and untreated for far too long. Clinical anxiety can present as (but is not limited to) the following:

  • Difficulty relaxing or fully unwinding

  • Excessive worries about the future or replay moments from the past, which makes it hard to stay present

  • Overthinking

  • Procrastination

  • Attachment trauma that affects your relationships and self-confidence

  • Avoid people/ places that make you feel uncomfortable

Integrative medicine examines the whole body; GABA receptors, which are often targeted in anti-depressants and anti-anxiety medications, are created in the stomach. So, in order to improve your mental health, you need to look what is coming in, and going out of, your body. Gluten and dairy sensitivity, for example, can exacerbate your symptoms of anxiety. Chronic inflammation is not due to personal shortcomings; rather, your body is trying to mitigate damage to organs. Through careful analysis and adjustments to your diet and lifestyle, your body can resume healthy functioning, and your mind will feel better too.

Anxiety can feel deeply isolating.
Support can make a meaningful difference.
